Why you need "hdd bios" with your serial number?

If you damaged the eeprom chip or lose original data from this hdd you need a professional tools to recover data from hdd. but is very expensive.

Your original eeprom data have a decrypt key that is paired with firmware data plates.

Nah, i'm just trying to repair my dead hdd. The data isn't important, i'm just want to make it runs as my external storage. So, it's impossible to repair when the "bios chip" getting failure? I saw other people replace the swap the chip from another same disk.

You allways need original hdd file. Without that your hdd is garbage.
