Toshiba C655 not seeing HDD or ODD

I have a Toshiba C655 that boots fine except it tries to boot via ethernet. The DVD rom light turns orange but does not open and the hard drive does not spin up. Checking the BIOS shows that neither the HDD nor ODD is being seen. Any insight as to what the issue is would be appreciated.

If schematic is available, then you need to check whether voltage is present on HDD connector.If voltage is ok, then drive should atleast spin.

Thanks for the response. I removed the board from the case and found a burnt component marked 23AHCP (red line), similar to another component on the board (yellow line). I am not sure what this component is and how it works; maybe i can get one from another board to replace it.

The burnt component seems to be a dc-dc converter. May be FDC655BN

It could be an Analog power AM3423P http://www.analogpowerinc.com/datash...1=DS_AM3423P_B
