I had a Synology router, and you need to use the Assistant software to view/change anything, AND the correct version of that software for the unit you have.

I had to email Synology support the S/N of my unit (which I got off the sticker) and they sent me a link to the correct download.

MAC and Serial are located on the daughter board. That little tiny board with the standoffs on it. Copy the checksum too, or it won't boot.

OOps. Almost forgot. As its been awhile since I had a play in shop. If yours doesn't have the daughter board, then its in the bios. Just extract the bios, and search for term "SN=". Mac address too is right next to it. Also copy the CHKSM over as well. Should be like 3 digits.

Repair of an LG split AC system indoor unit PCB
            by ngml
I am trying to repair an LG split AC indoor unit, which does not start and gives a CH05 error code.
This indicates an error in the communication between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
The outdoor unit is fine, so the problem is the indoor PCB.
The indoor unit is an LG PC09SQ NSJ (3SNM09JA2FA), and the PCB has the following type number: EAX35907219-1.2 (see photo1)
I changed optocouplers ICO1X & ICO2X and the NPN transistor S9013 which drives optocoupler ICO2X (see photo2), but this did not remedy the fault.

Does anybody have the schematics of this board,...

            UART (serial ?) splitter ?
            by Dannyx
Good day folks. I got a project on hand and would like some thoughts on whether it's possible to achieve, albeit impractical. You know me - I like to over-complicate stuff

The setup: I got a Paradox EVO192 alarm panel, a serial-to-ethernet adapter and an official PCS250 GSM communicator.

The task (TL/DR): connecting both the ethernet adapter AND the communicator to the single serial port of the Paradox panel. Connecting their TX/RX lines in parallel the data would get all messed up. At the very most, I THINK I could parallel the RX pins of the ethernet adapter...

Lenovo T490 - motherboard serial - windows licence lost - after corrupt bios chip replacement
            by baletak
            Hi,
had T490 with faulty bios chip. Bought chip out of ebay and soldered on. Laptop starts and works however serial numbers of laptop and motherboard do not match.
I have updated laptop model number.

            1) I did not find the way to update laptop serial number - I have this one.
            2) I dont know where to get my motherboard serial number and how to update it. Is it somewhere physically on the mainboard? How do I update it?

Hope to find someone to help me with this as I am hitting dead end at the moment.

            Many thanks

Lenovo X240 - motherboard replacement for X250, no image.
            by andrhouseolly
Friends. I beg you to help me in this situation.
Lenovo X240 with a video problem. Native Intel drivers are not installed,
after installation, a black screen. It works with the standard Microsoft driver.
Understanding that there are problems with the video core,
            I ordered a motherboard from Lenovo X250.
The laptop turns on, starts up, there is no image on the internal display.
The image is output to the external monitor.
I ordered another motherboard from Lenovo X250.
The laptop turns on, starts up, there is no image on the internal display.

Synology MR2200ac mesh router, UART connection - login details?
            by spleenharvester
This particular unit powers up, LEDs behave normally, but broadcasts no SSID, will not mesh with any other routers. Plugging in an ethernet cable from a Windows laptop results in "unidentified network" with an autoconfigured IP address and no response to pinging 192.168.1.1.

I was able to log into serial/UART by connecting the 6-pin header to the GPIO on a Raspberry Pi Zero W (GND to GND, TxD to RxD, RxD to TxD, no connection between +3.3V as it is supplied on both sides) using Minicom, command:

            Code:
sudo minicom --baudrate 115200 --device /dev/ttyS0
            ...
