    0805 SMD question

Please correct me if I am wrong.

I have what I believe is a capacitor. 0805 size.
I have a full book of 0805 SMD so I'm pretty sure I have the one I need.

I'm trying to identify what this is:

    HCB2012KF-121T50_0805
    5A 1 20m 25% 120@100MHz 0805 Ferrite Beads ROHS

Could someone explain to me how to read this?

    Thank you in advanced.

    Re: 0805 SMD question

Okay, so I believe this is a ferrite bead which is just a component that reduces interference. So if I test both sides of this component should it be open as if it is a wire straight through?

      Maybe this will help:

A ferrite bead is also commonly called a ferrite clamp. It's a passive device that improves your PCB's power quality, designed to suppress high-frequency signals on a power-supply line. They're typically placed around a power supply / ground line pair that's incoming to a specific device.
Their principle use is as an EMI filter on power inputs, often on the input to a common-mode EMI filter circuit.

        Re: 0805 SMD question

it's an inductor and should have a very low resistance
