He didn't say what he repaired or what part he replaced if any but I did notice that he had removed the large black heatsink because of the new solder on the back of the board. He said he tested the board when he first got it and tested it again after the repairs. He said it was working fine when he tested it before he shipped it back to me. Now he has ask me to ship the board back to him so he can retest the board, which I did as of yesterday. He should get the board tomorrow so I guess I'll find out what happens after that. If he still says the board is working fine then I don't what the problem can be. I had asked in the last post if the main board is the only board that could cause my symptoms.

I just learned the board won't be delivered to him until Friday.

If he said he repaired the board that means the board has problem, if what he said is true otherwise why would you repair the board if there is no problem.and just tell you that there is not problem found.
Did you also tell him the symptom of the problem and he had confirmed that is what he is seeing when he receives the board the first time.
Did you also tell him that you had already replaced the EEPROM?
Right now you need to know for sure if the main board is fixed or not to progress to look at other boards.

So, are you saying that a boot loop problem can be caused by one of the other boards? I have replaced the power supply board.
I did tell him the symptom of the main board. He said he tested it before he did anything to it. But when he repaired the board and sent back to me it was doing the same thing....boot loop.
I also told him I changed the EEPROM before I sent it to him the first time.

Re: Need help with resistor value please

The question is, did he see the main board go into boot loop or not before he started the repair work?
If other boards that are connected to the main board, if it has shorts then it will cause power supply to go into shutdown/restart mode.
Why don't you ask him to show the video that your board is fixed and working OK.
If you have doubt about your power supply board then send him the power supply board too.
He should be able to tell you what he fixed on the board since you paid for the repair.

According to him he said he tested the board before any repairs. That should mean that he saw it in boot loop and made repairs. But I got it back still in boot loop. I will take your advice budm and ask him to send me a video of the board working. But the board will start working after about 10 or 12 boot loops.

I suspect the ebay repair service just refload the ic with hot air and it worked for a while (tested ok) but after cooling down and shipping, the poor bga connection reoccurred.

That's what I was thinking too. He actually got the board today, a day early, and he said it's working fine. He did say he would test it for a couple of days. I don't see how that will help because it boot loops when it's first turned on. I would like figure out how to fix this tv so I can sell it but I'm sinking too much money in it.
