    Vizio P-Series: P65-F1

Hello BC it's a pleasure to be back asking for your help again

I've tried fixing TVs in the past with either mild success or at least recognized what was wrong and gave up if it became out of my reach to repair.

However yesterday my home tv got cracked so I'm looking at a P65-F1 for $150 - seller says it "receives power but will not turn on" and the power source needs repaired.

Right off the bat what would you suspect if anyone has experience with this TV? My logic is that I can buy main board and power board and possibly fix it for a good budget. Considering others in my area sell for ~$600 used.

I have a multimeter and have read similar stories about bad main boards, power cycling tv, turning off to remedy non working TVs. If it has a red standby light and just doesnt power on likely a power supply issues

Regardless I may pay someone but thought I'd ask first and I know finding good quality working parts can be not easy

Vizio M and P series have main board issues. Processor runs super hot and temperature cycling will cause the BGA solder balls to crack around 2-3 yr mark.

Hey thanks i seen that thread in advance and was thinking to throw the board in the oven...

I picked up the TV and here's the symptons:

user said screen started going purple or green then went out, he hard reset TV and i guess it just stopped working completely.

When the TV is first plugged in the standby light briefly for a second flickers then stops... The rest of the TV is unresponsive... I havent taken it apart yet

What are the odds of changing out just the power board and other components are ok?
