I have a sony m/b mbx-252 (Z50-BR 48.4MS02.011) with prooblem, its not power up with the charger but only with the battery, i found that the diode D14 (RJ1196 EXF) has problem. Can you help identify D14 component with what diode can i replace ?

Unfortunately i don't have the schematic, but maybe a 5A 40V schottky would do, you may need to reverse engineer the circuit.

      Charlie thanks for the info!!!

I have removed the faulty component and now is power up with the charger but i think to work correctly with power supply and charger at the same time must have the missing component.

I cannot see D14 based on your picture to see what function the D14 is being used as.
Does the D14 show very low resistance in both directions?

D14 is sorted, no resistance in both sides

This is a reverse polarity protection diode. It is there to protect the board in case you connect a charger with reverse polarity. The board can work without it but it is better to have one. It is not a critical part. Any fast switching diode that can handle double the amps that the charger can provide will do just fine.
