Is it possible to reuse the carbon filters used in solder fume extractor , washing or cleaning them?

If this is a foam based filter pack then I don't see why not, a quick search finds plenty of online guides for just such an endeavour. These usually involve fairly hot water, detergent with plenty of agitation people have been doing the same thing with hoover filter packs for a long time, however giver the activated nature of these filters I would not recommend it. Furthermore the price point is such it makes little sense, that said some of these complex filter assemblies for Pace and weller fume extractors are expensive but I don think lend themselves to washing. If you try this let us know how you get on.
