one method is to slide out the 2 terminals for the 13v and gnd from the m.b. side of the psb to mb cable with a small screwdriver, and then attach the lamp terminals, other method is to solder 2 wires on the solder side under the connector..
when testing measure voltage..

Unfortunately not, if I unplug either side one at a time, I get illumination from backlights, but nothing else

so when you did U riboon test TV start with out blink.. and you can put it in STB via RC... !! please confirm,, if this was YES then you have issue an Panel VCC because no picture,, take out the speaker and upload high Res photo on both sides of the panel buffer boards,,, it could be there ceramic caps short or ESD diode short on the boards.

Unfortunately I didnt buy the set new myself, so unable to return it. But thats interesting to know for future reference, I always thought electrical goods were 12 month warranty, unless took out extended from Currys etc

That's a shame. And forget currys. Ritcher Sounds sells all their TVs with a 6 year warranty, so there isn't any need to remind managers of their legal responsibility.
A receipt isn't needed if it was purchased by debit or credit card. Just a proof or purchase.
Our consumer laws in the UK and Europe are far better than the US

Yes, when did ribbon test, it starts up but with no image, amd I am able to put it in standby with RC

On the mainboard? Is there any tests to run to check if this is at fault?

first check the SPI Flash pin 1 which it connected to ESD diode if there >=3.3V

0.25v, then when screen illuminates for a second it jumps up to 1.something for a millisecond, then counts back down to 0.25

(Meter set to 20v)

No warranty unfortunately

no harm in contacting samsung though with the serial number etc you may get lucky and they help you its only a quick phone call or email
