To be able to reset “Error 0199: System security-Security password retry count exceeded” you need to get into Setup/BIOS with Supervisor Password.

so the only way to know if this method works for the t14 is trying it myself.
i will have to buy a bios chip programmer. wish me luck, because all i have now is expensive paperweight

Hi, I have tried to run the python program but the cmd closes right after I open it. I have read through almost all pages here to try to figure it out :P
(using python 3.9)

Could someone please help me with patching the attached bios?

hello, I am having a problem with X1 Carbon Gen 1. The bios is locked with password and it boots to locked bios, but when I try to patch the bios file it gives following message.

Using UEFIReplace to inject 2 DXE drivers...
[1/2] BootOption (GUID e0746c42-d3f9-4f8b-b211-1410957b9ff5)
biosd.bin is corrupted or does not contain a valid dump.
There was an error... Aborting.

The patcher doesn`t work on this old model. Look for the P24S08 chip. The method is to short 2 pins together, its well known. Search the forum or online

STEP 1: Flash and replace current BIOS with the generated patch file
STEP 2: Boot the machine
STEP 3: Press ENTER/F1/etc. to enter BIOS settings
STEP 4: Enter any character when asked for Supervisor Password
STEP 5: Press enter when it shows Hardware ID
STEP 6: Press space bar 2x when asked
STEP 7: Turn off machine
STEP 8: Restore original BIOS
STEP 9: Reset BIOS settings to factory defaulT

it give 5 beeps its normal after few seconds its give display

I used this dump and the pc starts but the problem remains stuck on bios passwords (press f1 to enter setup) and I do not have the passwords

my pc does not start with dump that you give me it only starts with this dump but it and protect by bios or supervisor passwords
