if you had the programmer, you could try talking to the atmel to see if it's dead or not.

could I do it through the program you indicated to me before?

yes,
you can ask the chip for it's ID(part number) and if it's not protected then you can read out the code memory's(it has 2) and the option-bytes

you would set the "programmer" to usb-asp,
then select the "detect" button on the right i think.

the programmer can supply power *if* the connector on the numark uses that pin.

that message is what you get if it cant see the chip / the chip is not responding
