    it's a bullshit manual.
    i have many such lights, they all sold for use with 3x alkaline non-rechargeable cells as a backup to the 18650.

    btw, do they have a usb port on the light or a barrel-jack?
    the jack type have no charger or protection circuit in them!!!


    btw, you wont get far with NiMH cells - even the very best are only going to give you 900mAH

      It's USB. Yeah, I too find it a bit misleading that it says it can use either of the two, which lets your average Joe who knows nothing about electronics to just roll with it and throw in there whatever batts he comes across....

        It might be interesting to see what in this light because STJ is right I have seen some of this crap before

        I bought one a while back and the battery that came with it
        Had some milliamperes claim but came no where near it was way off I just tossed the battery
        9 PC LCD Monitor
        6 LCD Flat Screen TV
        30 Desk Top Switching Power Supply
        10 Battery Charger Switching Power Supply for Power Tool
        6 18v Lithium Battery Power Boards for Tool Battery Packs
        1 XBox 360 Switching Power Supply and M Board
        25 Servo Drives 220/460 3 Phase
        6 De-soldering Station Switching Power Supply 1 Power Supply
        1 Dell Mother Board
        15 Computer Power Supply
        1 HP Printer Supply & Control Board * lighting finished it *


        These two repairs where found with a ESR meter...> Temp at 50*F then at 90*F the ESR reading more than 10%

        1 Over Head Crane Current Sensing Board ( VFD Failure Five Years Later )
        2 Hem Saw Computer Stack Board

        All of these had CAPs POOF
        All of the mosfet that are taken out by bad caps

          currently for the hll of it, I have a 6-cell SLA hooked up in parallel to a 10-cell NiMH and charging CCCV at 13.8V.

          Big tradeoff here, see it? Alas, it's difficult to use both packs at the same time...
