    LG - 60" Class - LED - UJ6300 Series - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR

    Hi everyone,

A couple of years ago I bought an LG 60" UJ6300 Series TV. It was cheap at with a very decent screen size, and light. Over the past couple of months I have noticed that the image coming of of the screen has looked more and more blue as time has gone on. I did a little research and found this quote " Blue LED phenomenon exists in LED back-lights that are manufactured by a company called Vestel. Notorious in the TV trade for building sub-standard TVs, and, supplying parts to other manufacturers". In short its blue because the LED's are dying. Since I use the HDR function all the time and have the back light high this it would make sense. So, the next logical step would be to replace the old LED strips with new ones, but I don't just want to replace them with the same Vestel LED's I would prefer to upgrade my strip with better LED's. I went to Shopjimmy.com to find out what I would need in order to complete the upgrade and they have everything with the exception of the of the LED's themselves. Their tech's actually referred me to this site to see if the group of experts here could give me an answer on what LED's are compatible with this unit's strips. Anyone think they can help? Thanks for any information you may have.

      Hi,
Thanks for your reply yes these are strips, but they have the original LED's on them. I verified it with ShopJimmy. I want to take the strips I have buy third party LED's and replace the individual LED's on the strips.

I think they use about as good of parts as anyone, it's just bound to happen when the leds are driven at max. Some do a resistor modification so they can not be over-driven.

Vestel does not make LED's, LG makes its own LED's that are also sold to other LCD manufactures.
Bottom line, all the TV manufacturers drive the LED backlights at maximum rating with poor thermal management and protection so they fail earlier, that why you see LED's failure in all brands of TV.

I would replace all the strips. Ive had LEDs going blue and its better to replace all. In any case they are very small and hard to remove

About replacing individual LEDS on BL strips
                by edugimeno
                Hi There!
Having fixed 5-6 TV sets by replacing full LED strips, and having watched other people fix that by replacing just one LED in the strip, my question now is what should I consider before doing so.

At this time I have some old strips removed from TV's with all but one LED working. Are there different voltage/current LED on different strips? Are 99% of them just the same and interchangeable?

How do you find which specific model is needed for each strip? When I check if a LED is OK by attaching the multimeter leads to the individual led pads on the strips I...

LED problem on samsung UE55F6475, 2 strips work. The rest is flashing every second.
                by Kingfreddie
                Ok.. this is the story:
Have an old Samsung LED 3D TV (UE55F6475). First it started to lose light on the lower 40% of the screen now and then. Like for 10-60 mins and then it would work again. Then a bit later it just got stuck in that position. The lower 40% of the screen is dark, and it gets progressively darker the lower u go so it's obviously that LED strips where not working. I also looked for similar errors online and saw an exact copy and on that one it was faulty LED strips.

This is kinda how it looked, just that mine were at the bottom of the screen:
