Check and replace D10 and D11 usually brings these back to life.

These power supplys are uses in loads of cheap sets 48" - 55"

Mine has a bad Q5 transistor.

I can't read specs in it. Do you know the specs for Q5?

I have a Sceptre 55 inch 4k that just died. I am getting no power when plugged in. No standby lights, just dead. It appears to have this exact same board and the symptoms appear to be the same as you are describing. I was just going to try replacing the whole board, but I can't seem find it in stock anywhere. Could you maybe point me to where to get the parts I need to replace to hopefully bring this thing back to life? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the tip. Saved me quite a lot of time. For reference, the same PSU is used in HKC LCD televisions that are manufactured (as OEM) for Haier and Vise.
The PSU model I got was the HKL-500201 in a Vise 50inch TV.

Hi,

I've just found this thread, I have the same problem with this tv. It's a 55 inch Element. Model ELEFS552., it just die, and there is no power, or standby light. I can't seem to find the D10 and D11 capacitor, the writing is very small. could you show me where it is on the board? Do you know what size is it so I find the new part for it?
Sorry, I'm new at this, this is my first attempt to repair the tv.

I found a high resolution picture on another post, and saw where the D10 and D11 capacitor is located. However I'm not sure what size they are, and where to get them. Could someone send me a link please?

Look at the diode P/N as printed on the body of D10, D11.
BTW, did you test them first to see if they are bad or not?

Thanks for the reply, i'm going to look closer at the circuit board and see if i can identify the cap, the printing is very hard to see. I will take a picture of it as well.

The OP is talking about Diode 10 and 11, they are Diodes hence the D, it's not a Capacitor, look for markings on board, some boards are marked better than others. If you locate the diodes test them if they test off then test them out of circuit to be sure. Youtube is your friend for testing procedures and tutorials, just type in diode testing.

thanks for pointing that out, this is my first attempt at trying to fix a tv.

I found the D10, and tested it with the multimeter, it's showing 0.8ohms even when I reverse the meter negative and positive lead.
and for the D11, it's showing 0.9ohms on both sides of the lead.

the 2 diode on top, D8 and D9 were showing very high resistance value, in Kohm and Mohms, the 2 diode in the bottom, D13 and14 were showing high number as well.

But for the diode test, the D10 and D11is showing 0.000V for both of them. I think they are bad.

I tested the 2 diode at the top and 2 at the bottom in that same section and i did get some voltage reading for them.

I can't see all the number/letter, look like one of them are underneath. I took it out from the board, one of them is measuring 0.000V and the other is 0.225V in diode test mode.

Both of them has these letter on it. It looks to be identical: LT4132 SB5150.

I just tested them again after seeing the video.

This is after they are taking out from the board. One of the said 0.232V, and the other is 0.000V. So maybe just one is bad?

Do you know where I can get them locally in Philadelphia Area? or I have to order these online?

Thanks everyone. I got it working again. Only had to replace one of the diode mention in Hamie post and it working like normal. Thanks for posting this info, it help me save several hundred dollars from buying a new one.

Just replaced diodes 10 and 11 on a 55 Sceptre U505CV-UMC with this same PSU board thanks to this information and saved it from the scrap heap.

I'd like to thank OP and everyone else who provided relevant info.
