the part at RS is NOT a cap, it's a filter with a built-in resistor.

    you need something like this:

      Thanks for your reply

its part of a controller circuit and shown in attachment

      and this https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/polye...itors/1719150/ - <<< KEMET 47nF Polyester Capacitor PET 220 V ac, 630 V dc ±10%, Through Hole>>>

      is rated for only 220VAC

will this work for me.... ?

Re: Help identifying this Cap - 630V, 0.047u

is it connected between the L & N mains input?
because if it is then it needs to be an X2 rated device

Im sorry , im not sure answer to your question

but find here attached the casing for the circuit with output of 30VDC/240VAC, 2A (COS@=1)

Re: Help identifying this Cap - 630V, 0.047u

that looks like it's on the DC side so it's getting about 345v - no problem as it's rated for 650v
to be sure, can you post a photo of the other side of the board.
and what is the distance between the 2 pins?

Lets see good clear straight shots for the whole top and bottom side of the board so we can figure out the function of that cap.
              Is it tested bad?
What is the board not doing?

The board in question has two rectangular cutout on two corners: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...9&d=1591744711

And again, what is wrong with the board?

Yes, some caps are bad i.e.

                        also this RES:
                        Resistor R18
                        Resistor R5
Thermistor (TH) 10D9 - not sure if this is NTC/PTC

Re: Help identifying this Cap - 630V, 0.047u

                              1) Cap C5 - 630v, 0.047u. So what is wrong with the cap? Shorted? Not showing correct capacitance? It looks to be connected in parallel with the main filter cap C100 (68uF 400VDC).
                              2) R5 (0.47 Ohms) is blown so something may be shorted out causing the resistor to blow, it looks to be resistor for the Source pin of the 3-pin power device. You need to test that 3-pin power device (MOSFET?) mounted on the heatsink for shorts.
                              3) R18 is also blown so you need to check that circuit section also.
                              4) Why is the fuse removed? Was the fuse blown?
                              5) Bridge rectifier D9 tested good?

                              https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...6&d=1591801314
At this points it looks like you have more than just blown NTC and blown resistors.
