I have an HP ENVY X2 that asks for a code to start up I don't know if it comes from the bios.

In case I put it in if anyone can look.

I had not paid attention but considering the size it may not be the bios...

No it isn`t its the external EC 1MB bios chip (25Q80 maybe).

Anyway doesn`t matter,look for the real bios and post it,along with the full laptop model number and serial.
