Need Help with BK Precision 2120 Scope

Trace is being snapped back to Center of Scope on Y Axis. I can get a lock on the signal but my trace is distorted. Scope was in storage for 2 years. Am willing to try just about anything at this point.

That's an interesting trace. Can you see the retrace lines like it shows in the photo? Could you post a couple of different waveforms? What does it look like with no input? Is that vertical line in the center a second channel?

Make sure all switches are cycled and set to their "default" positions.

Where's the 2nd trace? What do you get when you probe the calibration signal with each channel?

Open the cabinet with power disconnected and insure all board connectors and their like are properly seated.

Also check any socketed devices such as IC's.

Fair Warning: Don't screw with -any- internal adjustments. They're -not- what happened from being stored.

I have a B k precision 2120 the problem is the the trace doesn't rotate,PLEASE HELP any info is greatly appreciated.....thanks

@dadamnman, check and see if the DC voltage to the trace rotation coil is changing (in both polarities) when you rotate the pot, see page 9 of the service manual., it is just a DC magnet coil fed by -12vdc, +24vdc.

Any ideas what to check?

@cjespers: Did you download the service manual? Where is this resistor located at? Pictures? I do not see R911 on the parts list.

hello anybody! I just joined site and cannot post new thread. I also have a BK 2120 I just got. It has no horizontal sweep. It only displays a dot in center on display that moves about 1/4 inch from left to right. Any ideas? Thanks!
