I have 3 more of these and an x390, would you mind sharing the patch method please or could I post the bios dumps here? I had a look at the differences in a hex editor but I could't replicate your work.
So this is a newer model lenovo with the self-healing bios that you guys got working? I've got a t14s with a locked pw (admin); was curious if there was a method for these machines yet..If these manual methods work I'll go ahead and post the bios, just was looking for confirmation that the self-healing bios has been sucessfully bypassed. Thanks guys!
@bobotheklown
These 2 models use a 32MB bios, but seems like Self-Healing bios feature wasn't still fully operational, as they could be patched as with 4th to 8th generation ThinkPad models (ex. T440-T480).
l390-4y1x file may be corrupted , read again or give the serial number (PM) for verification
Can you share your patch method so that other members can patch their own, or at least give a hint.
Is it different to the normal patching, do you have to edit the GUID or something
A couple of these L390 are failing to retain any changed BIOS settings 90% of the time. It also hangs for a moment when i switch through the BIOS menu tabs.
I have reset the BIOS to defaults, pulled the CMOS battery and updated to latest Lenovo BIOS, but if I e.g. change boot mode or try to set a new supervisor password, most of the time it reverts back to previous settings.
Has anyone seen this issue before, any suggestions please?
