@bpoindex
Hi, is better if you use the Original BIOS, otherwise if you use any of the compatible posted files you will still need to clean ME Region.
Here's your Original file, with password removed.

Hi,
the computer CF-54 is booting into windows/HD,
and I thought, I can use the software AfuWin64 for reading and writing the bios, can't I?

I have no hardware-programmer, do I really need it, or is there a possibility to delete the password (make Bios unlocked)

best regards
Spider

Default Panasonic CF-54 Operating Time in BIOS

My two CF-54 have now been unlocked of BIOS PW.
Everything went great, thanks for the support here!!!

Does anyone know also yet, how and where to change or reset the operating time in the bios?
I would be happy for a tip.
Thanks again!

Default Panasonic CF-54 MK3 Bios Password

I'd like to ask forum experts to help with another password removal. This is BIOS from CF-54 MK3 using CH341. Machine will not boot to disk, only asking for password. Thank you.

Thank you, the password is removed. I do not know if related but appears the BIOS update (from L17 to L25) is hanging at reboot from Windows. Getting longer than usual pause before Aptio Setup BIOS update screen, warns about not shutting down and then does not proceed update nor reboot. Any ideas?

Have tried the L25 BIOS update three times, same behaviour with stopping at update screen.

These two updates worked:
-Embedded Controller V3.00L13 to V3.00L14
-ME Firmware 11.8.60.3561 to 11.8.82.3838

Also, I notice under Panasonic PC Setting Utility / PC Information Viewer / Setup the line :
...
BIOS V3.00L17
BIOS Configuration 0014-FFFF-00D5
Sample ID ˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙˙ < Do not see this line on similar machine
Embedded Controller V3.00L14
...

@AAAC or other expert, can you please explain “clean ME region”? On my cf-54 mk3 (which password was removed but cannot update bios), I will attempt to copy updated bios from similar machine, changing serial number and cleaning ME region. Thank you.

@bpoindex
Some laptops have a custom BIOS for a Service Center for example, these have hard-coded passwords sometimes, so you must use the same BIOS. Don't know if it's your case, but check the laptop bottom cover and do a web search of the complete model number.

Did not find much on CF-54J2878VM search except offer for Russian BIOS chip. The sibling purchased with this one had no password, same model but take BIOS update fine. I’m considering copying BIOS from one of these

In process…one question, is it required to write protect when finished copying? If so what value should SREG contain? Thank you
