I have a problem with the SWMP shutting down into protection due to a short detection on the VS -ON
A Big thankyou to BUDM for his intuity and help finding it
I unplugged every board except the logic and SWMPS boards and using the test procedure in service manual forced on the power supply board which gave me my VS 217v & VE 54v so i know now my power supply board was ok to begin with and i didnt need to pay for a new one DOH!
SO i have narrowed it down to the below condition
Please refer to PICTURES
I noticed on the X Main board the Cable that joins the X&Y boards
@ pins 1 & 2 that go to pin 12 & 13 =VS on the Y Mainboard
NOTE Y MAINBOARD IS UNPLUGGED
i am seeing a short to gnd when resistance testing pins 1 & 2 atthe plug on X main board
is this correct ? or have i just found why my PS is shutting down in Error protection
Cheers
Wayne
