        I swapped out the WiFi card for another of the same brand from a identical laptop and so far WiFi is staying connected.
        As for the physical mouse buttons, one must have lifted slightly as no contact on pressing with multimeter attached. Resoldered and now both buttons are working.
        Can anyone recommend the best windows for this laptop to run on, as vista just keeps giving warnings on website pages and do not load properly using Chrome. Internet explorer is even worse.

          7 and/or Linux

          if you want to have both, you MUST install 7 first and leave unused space on the drive
