Here is the file with MDM, notice that Microsoft use the following information to determine if a device is managed or not. Changing some of them can get rid of MDM, for sure only one or two of them not work.

        DiskSerialNumber
        TpmVersion
        EkPubHash
        MacAddress
        ProductKeyId
        SmbiosSystemFamily
        SmbiosSystemManufacturer
        SmbiosSystemProductName
        SmbiosSystemSerialNumber
        SmbiosUuid

Just wondering if anybody has been successful with this?

Because afaik, atleast on thinkpad, you would need a CPU replacement.

Say again? CPU replacement to get rid of autopilot? Just change SN for lenovo and reinstall. Windows Autopilot uses the OEM so changing win key in bios and reinstall from scratch will do the trick. when is reaching "internet connection" just click on "i don't have internet" and setup without internet.
Sometimes if you setup in bios secure boot to setup mode instead of user mode and erase secure boot keys will also work.

it uses all of these when you install intune or azure ad in windows and create a profile to remote manage the computer At installation it uses only OEM (part of) as win key or/and SN. from my experience, changing win key embedded in bios and reinstall OS from scratch erasing all partition from ssd/hdd will allow you to skip registration to a domain having option to not connect to internet (I don't have internet) and setting up user without internet connection.

Newer, creating USB installation for win with rufus last release and checking few options will allow you to skip checking win key from bios and at install will ask you to type a win key or skip by clicking on "I don't have a key".

you must flash the bios and load windows from a flash drive

Ofcourse I know how to bypass it but that is not how you remove it. There's a difference.

Meaning that I wouldn't care about it but a client will.

An easier method to bypass is just installing Windows Home version since that will not even check for autopilot.
