          thanks for the file and caution !

          unfortunately my odroid has been acting weird.

          few months ago it read roms just fine, but this time
          multiple readings gave different checksums.
          I have unsoldered the chip though.
          could not pinpoint the cause.....
          and I have tried also different chip using the same method ( desolder first),
          but unfortunately it gives inconsistent readings....
          Maybe smthg went wrong with the odroid...
          I guess time to buy a new reader......

            good news ! after reinstalling os from scratch, it finally gave stable readings.
            I have read the chip 3 times, verifying all the 3 checksums, they matches.
            So I am confident that the flash content is correct, attached below..

            what to do next ??
            thanks !

                  Re: Gigabyte aero 15 x9 ite8587 kbc bios

                  Bad news... The kbc or bios did not work.

                  Previously with existing bios + blank kbc, at least it turned on for a moment after pressing on button.

                  @peste

                  Now with after programming bios and kbc with the bins bin you provided, it doesn't turn on after pressing on button..

                  Looks like I'm outa luck

                    Just asking out of curiosity.
                    From what model of laptop you pulled those bios and kbc bin ?
                    Was it msi creator p65 ?

                          I just want to know whether the bios you provided is supposed to be used on gigabyte 15 x9 or for other model ?

                          @peste @smdflea
                          I have no idea how to extract only certain region from bios binary. Could you please give some directions ?

                          Thank you all

                            Re: Gigabyte aero 15 x9 ite8587 kbc bios

                            i posted the DMI area,it can only be entered using a hex editor. @peste has posted the EC area that can be copied from the bios using a hex editor .

                            The bios and EC posted by peste is good. If you want further help with the repair start a new thread in the main laptop forum - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=23

                            .

                              Well ... this is not about Gigabyte aero 15 x9 in this thread, why would I send you a bios from another model ..... I sent you the site where I extracted it, I sent you the interval where the EC bios was extracted, at post # 12 SMDFlea sent you the intervals in the bios where you can find the DMI and KEYWIN information ... you have all the data ... enter in the HxD program the bios posted by me, and the backup copy of the bios you you have ... copy these intervals, from the original copy, in the virgin bios on the site, and so transfer the data from one bios to another ... (check the interval, and copy-paste) ..
                              more information can be found on the internet ..
