Top Cat: Thank you for the welcome, I will try my best not make mistakes being newcomer. I will need to learn your system of ways to post a question. I would also like to know if it is a no no to send a private message to any one user to simply comunicate a question with respect to Plazma TV issues?

      Hello everyone.
I'm Dr. Zener from Baku, Azerbaijan. Well ... A little bit about me: I put doctor in the title since my first high school was Medical University. But starting from 1994 when I was in the secondary school (lyceum) I'm dealing with computers and programming (in the beginning Basic then C++) and of course mostly hardware and electronics. So I graduated from the Technical University, Automation and Computer Technologies. First computer I had a chance to work on was Corvet (Корвет - Soviet product) with no hdd just a floppy and a reset button on a keyboard. Now I'm doing a repair for computer motherboards, industrial machines and building some projects on Arduino. So that's me and I'm glad to meet you here in this forum.

"I often fantasize about being good at things I actually am not very good at. My failures are much more numerous then my victories. My metabolism is slowing down and that's become very disappointing.

Aside from that I'm very charming and everybody loves me. That's what I'm told at least. I also enjoy walks on the beach."

Thank you, Ryan. That sums it up beautifully! You have fed my plageristic tendency...

Well I be jamez46, I believe I started with the TI 44A, which I think was before the C64, I am really old school when it comes to these new systems that are out on the market. I am of the Vietnam era. Honorably discharged 1970. I am looking into a Plazma TV with a strange issue. Soon as I get around to learning how to post its issue I may do so.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

To me just throwing a board into any Plazma Tv to assume its going to cure the issue is not the answer.
My Zenith Z50P3, all of a sudden the screen went dark with nothing but a ½ eliminated area at top of the screen, After talking with what I thought was a person who knew something about what was going on suggested to replace the Y Buffers, which only made matters worse, for the end result was ¾ of the screen being snowy and dark along with vertical bars traveling across the screen for left to right in a sporadic motion. Before all this and waiting for the V buffers to arrive, I did some voltage checks off the supply. Vs was 187, VA was 57, 5 volt shows. 4.67, all appear to be ok. Now this person wanted me to check the voltage at the V scan on the Y sustain, with respect to GND, that reading proved to be sporadic and wrong as that reading should have been taken from its floating GND, not chassis GND, Which shows to be -290 volts which should be right, from its Floating GND reference.
What is strange is that I've replaced the V buffers, they are only screwed into the chassis an not connected to the V sustain, and yet I have an image

                                Hi All,
I'm Robbie, a new member. I'm not a tech although a somewhat capable DIY'er. I'm experiencing a problem with my Panasonic TC-P55VT30, in searching to see what I could find out about I was lead here. Watching it tonight and all of a sudden it just went off. I've found threads referring to blinking lights, but I'm not seeing any. I've seen posts referring to having the contrast set high but I don't recall having it set to a high level-but it's been a long time since i adjusted it as well. Anyway looking for a solution or an opinion as to it's being worth trying to fix or take to a repair shop.

My little crappy insignia tv just went caput and they won't send me a service manual and i saw a wholeeee huge thread with so many people with my same exact issue! Hahha how convenient. Hopefully I can continue to help others too.
