I agree, solder... or do you mean this:

No guys, not solder. The white stuff that looks like silicone/ETC or it is silicone?
I am not sure that it is a regular silicone, I know that it's not supposed to be conductive.

                not exactly, it's NEUTRAL-CURE silicone.

cheap crap has acid in it that eats the plating off wires & stuff.

No, I don't need a thermal adhesive, I need some kind of silicone to glue a capacitor that I have replaced.

use hot glue if it doesn't run hot

It's not just cheap silicone that uses acid. Most use acid. In my local hardware stores, EVERY silicone uses acid even the most expensive brands.

Some even say things like "Organic Acid" or "Low Odor" but those are still not suitable for electronics!! They are all designed for building, roofing, bathrooms etc.

It must be Neutral-cure designed for electronics, indeed.

I just bought some of this stuff for attaching heat syncs to chips ... and I could swear that any attempt to rip the heat sync off the chip once this stuff cures, it'll probably rip the chips face off before letting go... lol
