Motherboard CPU socket replacement

Just finished off my first CPU socket replacement. Previous owner bent the pins so new socket was needed.

Will start taking shots and videos soon and upload them of the repairs for anyone else who has the equipment to do them.

Have a few motherboards coming in next week and just waiting on a batch of replacement sockets... The one I did yesterday was a Cheap buy tester... Next week I start on ROG boards and equivalents. Most are LGA 1150's but will also be doing LGA 1156 and LGA 2011.

They are actually very easy to replace as profiling the heat isn't as much of an issue due to the item being pulled isn't a chip. I accidentally set my profile wrong and in my first step took the board to melting point from bottom heat alone.... Pulled socket straight off. Cleaned area and replaced socket with new one... Tested.. Worked

Modified Scotle IR, i forget the model specifics.

Basically BGA was around for quite a while, the sockets had balls and now they just remove the socket and go straight balls, quite interesting how things change

Supplier of the sockets is taking their time even processing my order at the moment, Way well cancel the order and buy from elsewhere. As soon as I get them I will do a few videos etc
