    GL753VD shutdown during 3d test

    Hi all,
Asus GL753VD bought on ebay from a friend of mine as from parts or repairs.
The unit starts and on Windows 10 the discrete gpu (gtx1050) it's recognized apparently no other problems. I am not in my lab, so I do not have the proper equipment only an old Toshiba adapter 19V 6.32 A and 4G ddr4 . With the performance test app , 5-6 seconds after starting the 3d test (the video stars and I cans see fps) , the unit turns off.
Is it possible that not enough power or ram?

    Very likely not enough power.

Try to get your hands on the right wattage adapter first then we go from there.

Probably, but I see that the original adapter is 6A.
If the GPU chip has problems, what is the signal that forces shutdown? FORCE_OFF_PWR or GPU_ALERT or ???

When the battery is connected, the notebook does not start, the battery led flashes white or red without a particular sequence.

Did you monitor the temps and is the battery in good condition.

EDIT: can you check the battery with batterymon - https://www.passmark.com/products/batmon/

2nd edit: sorry didn`t see your post.

I have added some info about BQ24735, I don't know how it don't start evean the battery is gone, but the battery give a voltage around 12 V not 0V

Maybe the problem is on the bq24735, with battery and power supply the AC_BAT_SYS is 12V sometime 19V.

If there is a high load on the system and the AC adapter cannot provide the required power, the charger IC can switch to battery power instead. As a result some laptops won't work properly under high load without a perfectly good battery.

The problem now is that with AC+batt sometime AC_BAT_SYS is not 19V but is equal to battery voltage. When I insert AC BATDRV for 1-2 min is equal to SRN (equal to battery voltage) and the BATDRV FET is off but after that BATDRV (pin 16 of bq2435) rise to SRN+6v and in this case BATDRV FET is on and AC_BAT_SYS is now equal to battery voltage. I try with another battery and this behaviour is the same. I replace the BQ24735 , check REGN.
It is also possible that both batteries are not good but does this justify this behavior?

With original adapter and 8G DDR4:

1- I set on NVIDIA as default dedicated GPU
2- i force chrome to use dedicated gpu
3- on youtube no shutdown, the gpu core around 600MHz
4- with heavy test , shutdown occurs

                      a- I disable NVIDIA driver
b- with integrated gpu no shutdown occurs

After shutdown if I don't remove the adapter the system don't start.
                      any idea ?

After shutdown AC_BAT_SYS is 1V -> remove adapter -> reinsert and go to 19V

Now I can confirm that with a new battery, full charged, the system don't start and it has the same behaviour with the old battery and the battery does not charge (battery led blinck white/red)
I see that the smbus is connected with the ITE (I check it's firmware and don't find any issue), it's possible that the problem is on ITE ?

Solved but I don't know why.
The solution is reprogramm bios, of course, someone would say. Usually I don't do things that I don't consider related to the failure, in this case, the ITE firmware is not in the main bios, could someone explain to me the correlation between the bq735 and the main bios?

                                Flashing the bios fixes everything
