as you can see there is nothing left to scrape and right next to it there is a resistor pin can i connect it to the resistor?

Strip the wire back enough, run the wire through the hole and solder it to a couple of the other solder connections.

Cutting the jumper on Samsung TV to solve the flickering
              by Adenitz
              Hello to all,
I have just seen this YT video about solving flickering issue on SAMSUNG TV. Reading many comments it seems this works.
But I wonder what is done here and how this solved the issue. I'm not able to find the schematics so cannot explain to myself.
Few years ago I had a flickering problem on one monitor in some factory which I managed to solve by inserting UPS between monitor and power outlet. I also notice on this occasion the flickering was gone if I put insulation tape on the power plug like shown in the attached picture to remove connection with the PE conductor...

HP Elitebook 6050A3299901-MB-AX1 mystery model, need help identifying it
              by cannifixit
              Hi,
I recently bought a faulty Elitebook from ebay, and that was exactly how it was listed just "HP Elitebook", no details.
It has two issues, the first being in manufacturing mode for the bios, which from my understanding essentially means a bios has been flashed that does not have any of the laptops details, model, serial number etc.
The second issue is it does not charge which I'm sure I'll be ok with once i get into it.
The bios issue is a problem though as the laptop is missing all of the details on the bottom case, it's completely blank, it's not like they...

              Samsung QN82Q70RA backlight mystery
              by EazyBone
I picked this up and it had picture but no backlight. I was somewhat familiar with his TV as the LED driver fails a lot on this model. But when I tested the LED driver it had all the voltages necessary. I even had a spare one to try out just in case and that one did not solve the problem either.

I tested all the LEDs before pulling the screen apart but ended up pulling the screen apart anyways to further test them. Every one of them tests at 90 volts with the tester. They all light up. I replaced a couple as seen in the picture because I had extra and I accidentally popped the cap...

              Motorcycle flasher mystery.
              by roadrash
usually get help on here for computers and monitors etc but I thought you guys are the best I can think off to help me solve a real mystery.
I have a Honda NT650V bike and recently fitted a towbar to tug a little trailer sometimes.
Everything was good until I connected up the trailer socket.
The problem is whenever I use the direction indicators/flashers it causes a misfire as soon as I cancel the flashers the misfire stops. The bike without the trailer lights attached is fine.
.So far Ive tried the following:
              1) I replaced the battery for a higher A/h original...

              Mystery Resistor?
              by foxd01
Hello folks, I'm trying to fix an ATX power supply, among other problems it has a blow resistor with markings that don't make sense to any of the calculators I've tried.
I'm reading it as red, red, silver, gold, green.
It is a large resistor (15.5mm) on the high voltage circuit.

Here is a huge picture - can anyone help me with the resistance and wattage values?
              Thanks for any help.
