I have recently purchased this LG 43UF680V the tv works fine and plays audio fine and the menus work and display faultlessly but it wont play any sort of video from any source the video is scrambled but the audio is fine. after some reading i suspect i could be a t-con board possibly? its surely some sort of video processing issue.

You have a common fault on these models with a faulty XD engine graphic chip under the heat sink. The one closest to the connection leading to the tcon.
This is a tough job and if you have no bga soldering experience you will be better off sending the board in for repair below.
