    Silent APC UPS?

My old BackUPS LS 500 is silent. When it is not running on battery, there is no hum or slight buzz at all -- nothing. I like that.

I just got a BackUPS CS 350, hoping it would be silent too, but it has a slight hum/buzz to it. When the room is very quite, you can hear it from 10 feet away.

Does anyone know of a good brand of UPS that is silent, and around 300-500VA?

Just a quick update... My LS 500 actually does make the faintest hum, but you can only hear it when you ear is right up next to it.

and I thought I was being over sensitive when I can't stand Delta fans...

/me goes back to listening to the computer fan cacophony. Sans Delta fans however.

Thanks for the feedback on the 750.

I have found out that my cs-350 is much quieter when sitting on carpet vs. tile. And that makes a lot of sense because carpet absorbs a ton of sound, yet it still surprised me how much difference it made. I can live with it now.

Yes, it has vents. But the carpet is not blocking them.

I think the sound mostly comes out of the top vents. Also, when I squeeze the side of the UPS (which is plastic), the sound changes a bit, and is a bit quieter.

Harman/Kardon AVR 645 returning to stand-by after a few seconds.
                  by PowellSkier
A Harman/Kardon AVR 645 repair has been a hobby of mine for the past several years. My latest attempt involved the purchase of a DOA unit for part swapping and testing. The original AVR would power up then shut down after a few seconds. I completely tore down both units, found a couple of bad components and reassembled one of them. Same issue, no speakers connected. After extensive research I found a repair document from Harman/Kardon that explains the protection circuit in fantastic detail and provides specific test points for each fault (power, DC detection, overload & power) and the voltage...

LG L90 can't hear callers and they can't hear me
                  by dicky96
Hi. My wife has this problem on her phone.

She can make calls and accept calls but she can't hear the caller and they can't hear her.

The ringtone plays fine so the speaker is working.

However we have discovered that if she answers a call and presses Speaker Phone she can then hear the caller (through the normal earpiece not the speaker) and the caller can hear herl. What is causing this problem?

As its my wife's phone I will have zero credibility if I can't fix it lol

I noticed that on one end the mic has those "3 black circles"...

                  Denon AVR 1912 no sound

                  Hello,
As a foreword I'm relatively novice with component level audio gear repair. My amplifier stopped producing sound and I currently have no funds to buy a new one so I need any help to repair it. I know "no sound" is one of the most common problem but there were other symptoms so some of you seasoned repairman might able to pinpoint the stuff I have to check. I did download the service manual from manualslib the "no sound checklist" is a bit intimidating.

So i bought it working. First symptom: speaker protection relays on the audio board were clicking...
