    Replacing broken pads...

I know its insane and most of the time i use only jump wires...but sometimes when i see ripped bigger pads from board like from places where you solder bios or ite chip...i would like to make/reconstruct a new pad/pads. And it is not a problem to make it...the problem is how to glue it on board...thats where i am stuck...I tried with several glues and temperature resistance epoxies...but they all fail...when i put my solder pen..thats the end.
Maybe you have some experience on what glue or silicone to use?

if anybody wants uv solder mask, buy the blue, not green and never red.
remember the laser/led is closest to blue and cant penetrate the red or green chemical very deeply.

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
              by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

GTX 980TI with 2 broken pads on memory module
              by foshland
Hi, I got a 980TI with 2 pads broken under a memory module and yes, they are needed pads, so I just cant ignore them. Ill try to fix them but im waiting for the pads and solder mask to arrive.

Thinking on the worst scenario, is there a way to modify the bios to ignore that module and end with a 5.5 Gb card???? (or 5, or 4, doesnt matter, just dont want to throw it away) Its the 12 of 12 modules, so its the last one. Searched on internet without success.

              Thanks a lot

Is it possible bridging tiny broken trace
              by chth96
When I assembled dreamcast I mistakenly fastened long bolt and It resulted in
              cutting tiny trace.
This tiny trace(Total width of white coating is 5.5mm) is between R337,R343 and IC101 and it is covered with white coating in the below screenshot.

Firstly I tried to bridging tiny broken trace with my own eyes...But it is totally impossible..So a week ago, I ordered G1200 Digital Microscope and I magnified this tiny broken trace with it.

But It seems that It is really very tiny trace So I plan to order 0.1mm coper wire from aliexpress in order to bridging...

Legion Y540 17irh motherboard issue ( need help to know how to diagnose my motherboard)
              by Docus
              Hi everyone 😀,

I'm here today to ask for help with repairing the motherboard of a Lenovo Legion Y540 17IRH.

To give you some context, I'm passionate about computer repair so much so that I've invested in a lot of tools and started practicing on dead and old hardware. I've been learning how to solder and desolder components, mostly focusing on phone repairs.

Recently, I bought a broken Lenovo Legion Y540 17IRH for just €150, and there are two main reasons why I made this purchase:
              1. I already own the exact same model, but its plastic chassis is badly damaged.

Each GPU reballing produces different MATS results, looking for root cause ?
              by DynaxSC
              Hi,

I have an Nvidia card which makes me wondering, what is the root cause for Mats errors. The story is as follows:

              1. When I received the card Mats showed one memory with errors.

              2. Replaced the memory chip, but no change, still same error, so memory chip is ruled out.

              3. Made a carefull reballing of the GPU, MATS showed 3 memories with errors, the one before, and 2 other new chips.

              4. Made a second reballing of the GPU and Mats shows again only one memory chip with errors, the same on as in the beginning.

              5. Made...
