Samsung UA40 distorted menu

Hi all

Heres a weird one.
Got this Samsung when playing the TV the picture is perfectly good. But if you go into menu the menu items are distorted, as though the Tcon board is faulty

Any Ideas

I have been searching for where the menu etc. is stored. As near as I've been able to determine it is in the mainboard eprom. Maybe someone can clear this up.
