Corsair hx620w power on until PG says the opposite

    Hi:

I am trying to repair this SMPS, and I see that it powers up (let say for 1-2 secs) and then turns off.

For this short period I see the 12V,5V,3.3V,5Vstby on........along with the Power Good one. Then PG goes off and then the rest do the same.

The chip that decides it is a HY510N.

The voltages that I am reading on the pins are.

    V12 - 11.42V
    V5 - 4.98V
    V3 - 2.57
    PGI - 1.15V

Any idea what to look at?

    Regards,
    Francesc

Your 3.3V seems to be well out of regulation, so PG should be low.

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

Starting to check the 3.3V rail, then. :-)

Well.......getting crazy these days to troubleshoot the issue.......when indeed there was no issue.

This bloddy SMPS requires from LOAD......otherwise it stops.

So SMPS recovered from the junk box.

Some power supplies need to be loaded for all outputs to be in regulation.
