Sorry for bumping someone else's thread, but I've just stumbled on the same issue with this board.
System is ideapad 3 14-are05, board NM-C861.
I'm looking for a way to disable onboard memory, either by hardware or BIOS.
Schematic is not available, so it seems.
Any help will be appreciated.

Both schematic and BV are available. Use the search engine. Page 7 in the schematic: Board_ID [2,3,4,5], DIMM_ONLY configuration 0010 disables onboard RAM, 5 minutes job.

rearranging the straps does not lead to correct operation

Sorry guys but i don't get it... if the resistors have to be in 0010 configuration does that mean that RC44, RC41 and RC46 have to be removed, and RC38 soldered?
