    Re: Iso-p500spp Psu

The capacitors had a scent of ammonia and rotten fish mixed together!
I tested some caps recently, Jianghai brand, that smelled that way before I started testing them. It took me two days to get the smell off my hands after unwrapping a couple. They didn't fare too well in the tests, either.

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

Caps could be rated by how bad they stink?
      KS- kinda stinkers
      RS- really stinking
      SS- super stink that lingers

Euro 57? For $50 in the US I can only find really crappy cases. How thick is the metal?

its good, not lightweight. a chain of stores here uses them for builds.

Here 40 euro or less will get you a cheapie with an L&C psu and side doors. 91-115 for a chieftec/antec. then 140-221 for a thermaltake/cooler master.

                  57 euro is $68 though.

$68 will buy me an Antec SLK1650 online w/o shipping. In a store, it'll buy me a RaidMax 868 with window and 420W P/S.

That is one good looking case! What video card is in Monika's system?

Here's my guess, an ATI Radeon 9800 PRO?

Did her card beat mine? I have a cheap ATI Radeon 9600XT 256MB card with generic 10MM 1500uf 10V caps on it. Godd thing the caps are 10MM, if they go bad, replacements are easy to find.

you might be able to get a RAIDMAX Ninja ATX-918WBP Black past me but not the 868 in silver grey..

the antec is nice in black. (did you notice the emphasis on black?)

i would go for the :

                              http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119068
COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel

but without psu i guess i blew the budget

actually my next home pc will probably be cooler master stacker. without doors which i hate really limits the choice.

That's true. My card exceeds the performance of Monika's card but the caps on her card exceed mine. Cool.

ISO is Channel Well's budget line - as mentioned before, not crap but overrated a bit. Finding a Fuhjyyu in there doesn't surprise me so much as not finding a ton of them in there - CWT seems to love them some Fuhjyyus

For a good reason - Channel Well makes most of their units too. Next time you take a look at the innards of an Antec, you might see if you can spot the letters "CWT" on one or more transformers

If you find "VRL" instead and/or a strange looking double "S" logo, you're probably peeking into the depths of a Seasonic made Neo HE instead.
