Am I seeing things or... are these fresh MJ2955 and 2N3055's here...as in... made *this* year?

Onsemi (the new name of ON Semiconductor) still lists them as active parts.

Seems they are indeed, and they're still selling. It just felt like TO-3's days are numbered... or are they? Would have thought they want people to migrate to TO3P/TO218/TO247 instead.

Well, they're clearly available, but whether it's discouraged by price (including assembly costs) or whatnot... is the question.
