Write DMI information on HP Probook 640 G2

    Hello !

I had an HP Probook 640 G2 computer that was no longer working (the physical chip bios had failed), so I could not read its contents.

So I retrieved the bios data from an identical model, cleaned the ME region, then programmed a new chip and put it back in my computer where the bios was broken.

The problem is that the information on the bios is that of the computer where I took the information (SN,FeatureByte,BuildId,....). I tried to use HP's DMITool (which I usually use for consumer computers) but I could not write the data to the bios.

When I try to unlock the MPM mode I get the message "HP MPM protocol is not present".

Does anyone know how to change this information? The RethoricalCheese password remover program shows this information, but I couldn't find it with HxD in the BIOS file... maybe it is encrypted?

    Thanks for your help!

With an other HP DMI TOOL, I have this message : "MPM is LOCKED on this commercial unit. In order to proceed you will need to ordier a new SMC.bin file."
