Oh now you want to see factory smoke come out of the device this should be fun to watch or hear about

Check your printer head first for a short.

        CapLeaker,
I traced the schematic back from the +42v connection to the printhead. I was not able to find a schematic for the printhead itself, but did determine which connection was the input for the +42v. I ohmed from that point to the remaining pins and did not find anything close to a short. Again, I'm wondering if the printhead was not still wet from the cleaning process when it stopped working. Now the head has time to dry out completely. All I can do it try it. Ya know?

        Sam_sam_sam

The problem ended up not being in the power supply (the best I can tell). I'm not going to give up on this printer yet. Parts seem to be pretty cheap if your willing to wait for them from China, Japan or Taiwan. I have ordered a used, but good, main board and used but good printhead from a reputable dealer on ebay.

I also ordered two sets of transistors from another China seller on there. All of these parts cost me right at $100 shipped. To replace this printer would be $800-1,000 so I'm hedging my bets I can get it working.
There are several reasons. One I absolutely love this printer. It prints better than my fathers $5,000 Canon. Two, I have about $500 worth of genuine ink cartridges for this printer that I do not want to go to waste. IF it can be repaired, it's one less item to go into the land fill.
If I learn enough, I may buy up some other "non working" printers like this, repair them and make back the money I spent on this one.
Besides, I love to tinker. I am always working on something. It's just something I like to do.
