694D Pro - never powered up, bad caps?

    Spotted this one on ebay:
"Selling a NEW, NEVER USED MSI 694D Pro Motherboard." "Although this board was never put in service since I purchased it, upon close inspection, I found one capacitor on borad shows sign of leaking."

Think he's lying about it never being used, or is it a leaky cap straight from the factory? would put chhsi even higher on my list of crap caps...

It's definitely been used. The internal heating is what causes the cap to swell up (pressure cooker theory). Had it not been used, the caps wouldn't have swollen. They could definitely still be bad, especially being chhsi, but wouldn't have swollen.

    The seller lied.

i have seen boards that were new in a factory sealed box with leaking caps(gigabyte tuallie duallie) but never bulging.
gotta run it for a while to get them to bulge.
      got a link?
if cheap its may still be worth grabbing.

Asked him if he was sure it was new... "After I purchased the board, I did put a CPU in and burn the board for about 2 hours on bench just to make sure it works. Then I put in away and never use it. That is why I am suprised to see one capacitor leaks on bottom when I exam it. And yes, some capacitors show signs of pop-up on top, but it is very slight and they are leaking."

I don't need another 694d, so not planning on bidding on it.

even if it's not new... 2 hours to leak... heh. then again, chhsi doesn't surprise me anymore.

And let me re-word that... I don't need another 694d for that price. can't afford it.
