PN60F5300AF no picture with sound no cost fix.

Samsung plasma PN60F5300AF, TV power on but no picture with sound.
The big cap in the power supply voltage is 395v, the VS and VA was normal (208v and 55V) at time while turn on, but dropped to 0v after a while. This means the power supply is good.

Took off the y-sustain board and checked the transistors but non seemed to be bad, no fuse for this board. Checked the upper and lower buffer boards no shorted.

The Samsung plasma TV is infamous for bad caps in the x y board.

The problem is the capacitor C5162 (value marked 106) in the y board (LJ92-01958B, LJ41-10331A), see photos. Replaced with a good one fixed. This is the common problem for this model (I fixed 2 in my memory).

Hope this can help other repair guys.

Howdy - for me it was C5802 1kv x 331k small blue resistor that was blown. Hard to see as it sits under heatsink. Hope this helps.

        This is not a resistor, but a 330pF 1kV (1000v) ceramic capacitor.

          C5802 - can't find that part on Y sus. I see a C5082 ??

Guess it's sitting under a heatsink, ceramic capacitor as seen in Lotas's post, if you don't see it, probably is 5082, maybe a typo.

C5082 is under a heatsink. I have a pn60f5300 which was dead. put in 10uf 50V electrolytic for C5162 (106K). set now powers on but then cycles off and back on after couple minutes. assume I have to replace all the little blue 106K caps on the ysus board

maybe heat with hairdryer, a couple caps at a time on y-sus, or you could heat more then try to narrow it down, see if the tv stays on longer, I would prolly start with the caps closest to the transformer like the one you switched out C5162 in that area. Usually the electrolytics wear out first but heat all types of caps, see what you get.
