Samsung UN55D6000 - 55" LED Smart TV.
Got this set with shorted LEDs in the backlight assembly. This unit uses two rows of LEDs along the left and right edge of the screen. I replaced both LED strips, and the set worked perfectly until now.
A couple of months ago, we noticed that the TV was turning itself back on after being commanded to power off. I tried diagnosing every possibility except for opening up the TV - blocked the iR sensor, disabled network control and HDMI-CEC in the settings, unplugged the network and HDMI cables leaving only the power cord connected - TV still turned back on immediately after powering off.
Fast forward to a week ago - I noticed the TV was off. I tried to turn the TV back on with the remote, and no response. Walked up to the TV, and noticed the red "standby/power" LED next to the power touchpad was flashing rapidly. It didn't seem to be flashing in any sort of error pattern, just rapid flashing that did not pause or stop at any time. All buttons on the front panel and remote control are unresponsive.
Do these symptoms seem to correlate to a faulty circuit in the power board?
I guess I should start tearing apart the TV and checking voltages.
