    820-00165 Current Sensing Issue

    820-00165 Macbook air 2015 Motherboard.

Initially would not fully boot no liquid damage any kind.
Finally get to boot notice it says service battery won't boot after 2nd attempt.

Replace with genuine Battery and OEM 45w charger it boots.

If its fully charged 100% stuck ! even though coconut battery shows it going down in percentage, system information says fully charged when after running 20 min on battery alone and I look now its not charging but still shows icon as "charging"? but magsafe is green ? confusing!

When I run Mac Resource Inspector it stops dead at the sensors and locks up
I'm thinking this is some sort of current sensing issue?

Is your charger a real APPLE product or a clone? The clone models will immediately show the LED as GREEN / ORANGE upon docking to the logic board.

A true APPLE version will be dark for 1-2 seconds and then light up. There are some rare but good articles on this all works.

In short, there is a 1-wire communication (Dallas / Maxim IC is used here) between the logic board and the external adapter.

The cloned power supplies (yes we have bought some from those claiming to say they are real) are based on a PIC micro or equivalent. They are not operating the same.

In our case, we accidently scraped the adapter tip across the metal chassis and saw sparks. If you see the same, the adapter is a FAKE model.

If possible, try to source an original and test again. Just my 2-bits.

Its stops directly to the sensors testing in Mac Resource Inspector.
