TTGI 450W ATX PSU with bad caps

    Hello,

I have a TTGI 450W ATX PSU with bad caps.
It looks like this one: http://www.ttgiusa.com/product/switc...mg/big4fan.jpg
    http://www.ttgiusa.com
    http://www.ttgiusa.com/product/switc...le_fan_psu.htm

Actually the PSU was (is) still working, but I decided to open it to clean, when I found two (2) bad caps, so I believe its a matter of time until the PSU fails.

    The 2 bad caps specs:
Fuhjyyu (its in the bad caps brand list)
    1000uF, 16V, 105ÂșC

Good that I found this before it caused me any trouble.
Its starting to vent some "brown liquid" (the electrolyte) on top of them

The problem now is that I can't find any good brand replacements. The PSU is out of warranty time, so I'm without options around here, I have to repair it. I could find only some "strange" brands, and some are included in the "bad capacitor manufacturer list", like "Jun Fu"...

And the other replacement I found is from a brand called "Fu Lee", no idea if its too bad, bad, or any good.

I would only recap with a known-good brand.
    The great capacitor showdown!

      Me too

Unfortunately I got no source of good brand caps at the moment.
So I'll have to stick with the stinky ones for a while.

I'll try to import some Panasonic's or other brand, or try to see if theres any good distributor at other states in Brazil, but I'm having a bit of difficulty to find.

I replaced both Fuhjyyu with G-Luxon's caps (argh, bad brand I know)
Lets see if they last for a while...

I wanted to recap the whole thing, change all caps
If I got the parts, estimated cost would be ~US$ 25.00
But I can't get the parts yet.

Also, if I get the parts through import, with all taxes, the price will rise 80%
Then it becomes a bad price, its better to buy a new PSU.
