    Re: ASUS vw246h no video

The bottom one the input pin3 (5.053V reading) is an input pin.
The top one in question, if it is typical 1117 LDO, from the picture, the top pin should be an input pin. If it is 2.5V LDO, then that reading of 1.208 is wrong.

I'll chip in for selldoor's eagle eyes while he is on vacation, but I see

912T45 for the top regulator and that leads to

      https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...25e4855b99.pdf

which is a 1.2V regulator. That is, the regulator readings look good.

Thanks retiredcaps, I thought the numbers for the second line are the date code on this one. So it looks like it is OK then.

          3- 1.208 v
2- 0v (no visible connection to pcb)
          1- 3.317 v

          This one shows OK, 1.25V vref + 2.068 = 3.318V
          1- 2.068 v
2- 3.317 v (no visible connection to pcb)
          3- 5.053

Would it be normal for pin two on each of these to not have any connection to the PCB? in looking at the upper unit, there is solder on the board, but no connection from the pin to the solder. On the lower one, there is no solder on the pcb for pin 2.

Based on the responses then, is it appropriate for me to gather that the readings are accurate and that these units are working? If so, any thoughts on what I can test next? if not, any thoughts on how to resolve?

Pin 2 is the same point as the metal tab at the top of the regulators, which is connected .

I would think that a replacement Logic Board is probably the answer.

Any thoughts on where I can obtain one? The only place I found them was shop jimmy, but they have always said no stock.

That is a really hard part to find. I did find one on eBay with a slightly different revision number, but it might work. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-VE249-M...item2c689cb1ca

The usual disclaimers apply. "I don't know the seller. I don't know if it will work. I don't even know why I spent so much time looking"

Well, unfortunately this board is not compatible with my monitor and the seller has no access to the correct one. If anyone hears of a possible location, please let me know. Thanks

I've had my eye out for a logic and power board both for this monitor about 6 months now and nothing except an ebay like site in Chinese produced sourcing potential. it's a damn shame- I was dealing with 2 seconds to black when it came into my posession and sadly it seems to have transformed into a learning experience as i eroded its functioning into a blank white screen pulsing at about 60 bpm. If anyone wants to assist me in troubleshooting the pwr board i'll post pictures of my mess...

Alex, why isn't the board that lumberjack linked compatible? If you won't, i may have to take a shot in the dark and fire some paypal at it.

Not sure why. All I know is that I contacted the seller and they informed me it would not work. In looking at the pics, they look like a match, however there could always be subtle differences.

Did you end up buying the board? If so, did it work?

I have not. I mangled the power board and as I recall fails to produce 12v at the leads to the logic and I need to wrangle a replacement or post some photos I suppose. Does anybody know which other monitors utilize an Au Optronics M240HW01 panel? I may just keep an eye out for a cracked unit as I don't see anyone hauling out damaged vw246h's or parts for that matter.

Well, unfortunately I went ahead and purchased the board on ebay. It looks "almost" exactly the same, but I didn't pickup on the differences until after the fact. As can be seen in the pics, the connector the goes onto the cable that eventually connects to the front panel buttons is not the same. as such I can't power on the unit to test. Does anyone know where I can buy a cable that will have this connector on here (7-pin). I really want to get this up and going...especially after ordering that input card.

Ok Alex, since I suggested that board as a "possible" replacement, I feel obligated to try to help you get that running.
I believe you can desolder the "Old board 3rd connection" and solder it onto the "New board 3rd connection". I see 7 holes on the new PCB that are filled with solder. Isn't that the same type of connection from the old board?

In the meantime i assume it would be possible to test the old cable for continuity and determine what wires to "short" to get it fired up or am I simplifying the function of the button on the end of that cable?
