    Asus VG248QE Power Failure ( E162032 Vol 3)

    Hi Everyone

This is my 1st post in this forum. I have an Asus Monitor and having issue with the power. It comes on for 2 second then goes back off to stand by mode. I have tested all the capacitors on the power (E162032 Vol 3) board but still same issue. I have tested backlight and its fine as well. I have attached the picture of the power board, Can you please suggest anything? Thanks

May I ask how you test the LED backlights? What DCV rereadings do you get at the LED connector?
Pictures of the bottom side of the board?
'It comes on for 2 second then goes back off to stand by mode.'
BTW, do you have it hooked up to a running PC with Video signal?
Does it go into standby mode if the LED connector is not in place?

      Thanks for a quick Reply.

I have tested the backlight with Universal LCD tester for Laptop and all LED's Lights up fine. I have disconnected the LCD panel and Backlight but it still goes to stand by mode. When i press the power button it goes from red to Blue for 2sec then back to solid Red. I have also tried to plug into my PC but still no luck

Pictures of the main logic board?
Did you check any DCV from the power supply board feeding the main logic board and the Voltages on the main logic board?
The power supply is an always on power supply so the DCV to the main board should always present.

Yes i have tested all the DC Voltages from power board to the main board. I don’t know if they are the right voltages. (They seem to like really Low).

          From left to Right
          1 Brown 3.0v
          2 white 0.0v
          3 Black GND
          4 Black GND
          5 RED 5.0v
          6 RED 5.0V
          7 RED 5.0V
          8 RED 5.0V
          9 Purple 0.0v
          10 Green 0.0v
          11 Grey 0.0v

All the voltages are present and stabled.

I expect to see one more signal Voltage. Right now you have the 5V to run the main board, and I expect tow more low Voltage signals, one for the BL-ON and one for the Dimming so I will assume the 3V is is one of the two signal.
The problem right now is to find out what the exact function for those pins to verify, at this point I suspect bad main board due to the fact that it goes into standby mode even the Video signal is present.

I have the same monitor and it shows constant purple light. No picture, but windows recognises the monitor. What does purple light mean?
