Modifying Laptop PSU 19.5V to 24.0V

I have a 19.5V 11.8A 230W laptop/touchscreen desktop PSU. It's for HP machines but is branded Bestec, and seems to be the same one as Dell PA-19.

I'd like to use it for a project that requires 24.0V, so I'd like to modify the PSU's voltage divider according to https://polonai.se/smps/tosh/ and https://hackaday.io/project/3469-mod...k-power-supply

The output caps are rated at 25V, so I'll be close, but not over their limit.

I've identified the opamp/comparator and voltage reference as ST's TSM103 in red, and pin 2 is the inverting input and pin 3 is the 2.5V reference. I don't have a variable PSU with me right now, so I can't identify when the optocouplers turn off and the voltage divider to the output voltage.

    1. Can someone help me identifying the voltage divider?

    2. The PSU has two optocouplers separating mains from the secondary. Why two, not one?

    3. There's a 50k trimpot in the area highlighted in yellow on the other side of the board. I've tweaked it, and the output voltage is constant at exactly 20.00V, regardless of the trimpot position. Since it's not affecting voltage, could it be used to set the OCP current limit?

    Thanks!

Re: Modifying Laptop PSU 19.5V to 24.0V

One optocoupler is for controlling the voltage, and maybe the other is used for overcurrent protection (the trimpot is likely part of the OCP circuit), if you need to locate the voltage divider, start looking for the voltage reference (normally TL341) in a sot23 package.

Panasonic TH-L42D25A checking the PSU output voltage
      by electron_jj
Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum. I have a Panasonic LED TV which doesnt turn on and is blinking 4 times repeatedly when I turn on the switch. The TV does not respond to the remote control so I had to turn on using the physical switch on the side of the TV. When I turn on the switch the 4 x blinking starts and repeat itself until I turn off the TV. There is a black screen. I turned off the light in the room to check the panel and I think there is no backlight as far as I can tell.

I have been inspecting and testing the capacitors and diodes in the power supply board to try to...

Trip light 2400 watt line conditioner bought used issue with low voltage oscillation going on between relays
      by sam_sam_sam
I found two capacitors on the board and one of the leads on one capacitor had bad soldering joint and the other joint connections not much better and there were several soldering joints that way to much flux around the joint redid several of them

The capacitors were a non brand that I did not recognize they got replaced and now it does not oscillating between relay but what concerns me a little bit is when the voltage is a little bit low the output voltage is around 130 volts and then drops down to 115 volts this happens around 105 to 108 volts if remember correctly

      Now...

3+1 Voltage Regulator for IMVP-7/VR12 CPUs

Compliant with IMVP-7/VR12, the ISL95831 provides a complete solution for microprocessor and graphic processor
core power supply. It provides two Voltage Regulators (VRs) with three integrated gate drivers. The first VR can be
configured as 3-, 2- or 1-phase VR while the second output is 1- phase VR, providing maximum flexibility. The two VRs share the
serial control bus to communicate with the CPU and achieve lower cost and smaller board area compared with the two chip approach.

Help understanding ACDET voltage divider A315-23
      by kwyjibo
      Greetings.

Aspire A315-23 board (da0z8emb8c0 Rev c), no power.

19VDC is at PQ3 pin 5. Nothing coming out, and started working around the power circuit.

The ADP_ID pin (3) was pushed all the way inside the DJ jack (new one on order), causing it to not make contact with the barrel connector on the AC Adapter (nothing new), and where it wasn't my laptop I didn't just want to jump it to the DC Jack ground and call it a day.

I can see the voltage divider circuit from PR71 and PR69 to PQ9. But some reason I cannot remember how if the DC...
