I took a look at this for a friend. It looks like someone replaced the iron, and then noticed the bad transistor and stopped because the green and white primaries? were never hooked back up.
Obviously, this thing was built some time ago. Coherent Radiation hasn't been called such since '77, and this transformer is labeled as such so it pre-dates the transition to the Coherent only name. Should I leave the rest of these components alone or update them? I don't even recognize those large, faded orange discs, which by labeling appear to be resistors?, and those black jobbers labeled MH5+. I have replacement transistors for the 2N5086, but I have no idea what caused it to blow up in the first place.
I'm told it's supposed to power a hand-held laser.
