    Dell Inspiron N5110 dead

    Hello!
Today i received a piece of junk N5110 that is completely dead.
I see 19.5v on Drain of PU4002 and 2.7v @ PWRBT1 pin 3 that turns to 0v when i press the power button, nothing happens though, no led activity, no fan.
    Any advise welcomed

The information provided is not sufficient enough to give suggestion. Start with 3V/5V present on coil or not?? Check PSL Logic working or not. LIDSW# present or not.

      Hello.
No voltage at coils, no at all.

I feel a very light heat on this region of the MB, so oight that i'm not sure what component causing it.
Perhaps is from the opposite side where these tiny FET are.

Thermal cam indicates heat at PC4103
          What do you think?

If the capacitor is heate you must reoved and test if short is gone

              Re: Dell Inspiron N5110 dead

I don't get it, the capacitor doesn't indicate short to GND in neither of it's pins or between it's pins.
              Why it's overheated?

Because it is probably partial shorted. Has resistance a capacitor if you removed it must be Ol (open line )

Going to replace it and come back with results.

                              What else can we do?

Measure voltage on all pins of 3/5V regulator and post it here. What is the consumption on your dc supply in offline condition??

                                      Ok i'll measure later.
The dc supply stays on (Dell blue led), no shortcircuit detected.

                                        You mean the PU4103 ?
That's the only component where 3 and 5v are meeting.
