    Learnign question about capacitors

    Hi,

Often you find your self fixing a laptop mobo with no schematics.

Often it is a shorted cap that is causing the issue but since no schematic one do not know the cap's values.

The question is: is there like a high value cap that can cover multiple scenarios or a way to found out a cap value?

    Thanks from advanced

    Re: Learnign question about capacitors

From my experience, every time cap gets shroted it's one of few that are connected in parallel, I never had problem where isolated cap died. So when you find the shorted one you remove other next to it, measure it and find the same one to replace. I even practice replacing all of those caps next to shorted one, if I have time ofc.
