Nope. Use at least panny FM or FR. Ideally, something equivilant to FJ should be used (eg. Nichicon HM or HN)
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

      +1
Depending on where those TK caps are located (that is, if you can't find a datasheet for their series and have no idea on replacements), some spots may be satisfied even with Chemicon KZE or equivalent. CPU VRM low side - probably not.

@ BigTroll: for someone who's been on BCN for so long, you should know better by now to post more info/details when asking for any cap-related advice like this .

unfortunately I threw away the TKs so i don't know what series. but the way i look at it, I have salvaged many dell 270 280 boards at the school and all the caps behind the cpu if they were panasonic FCs I never once saw a 1800uf 6.3 bloat or fail, however the ones that had 1800uf rubycon mcz or mbz would fail from time to time. and since they are near the cpu area I figuere of these panasonics can handle a dell 270 then they can handle my shuttle, Its had no problems since i put on the panasonics. I know they are low esr, just not as low as the FM series i guess.

Just wanted to give you guys an update the shuttle is running like a champ, I image inside each panasonic FL is a BIG V8 engine just working away to feed that little e8200 Core 2 cpu and yesterday my 4670 arrived so now its running like a champ with Mint linux 16, oh it did eat a power supply it was a ELAN Power RP 2005 00 load with CAPXON however i got a 250 watt shuttle PC40 its much quieter and has 2 fans. lets see how she holds up.

Panasonic FL definitely sounds more like it. This is probably what you saw in those Dell GX-270 and GX-280 PCs as well. FC would be inadequate. In fact, I don't even think FC can be found @ 6.3V 1800 uF in a 8 mm can size.

Also, if there are any Ost caps in that Shuttle PC of yours, get rid of them NOW. Or else, you might be looking, at best, at another recap in the future. Worst case, they might take out the NB VRM or some other VRM (I'm not familiar with this particular Shuttle model) - at least that's what happened to my SB83G5 motherboard. When that happened, the NB died too. If you are feeling lazy, then at least replace just the caps on all of the buck regulators.

hehe thanks, the only bad thing is the shuttle wont let me change the multi despite being a unlocked chip, either way they run pretty hot so stock it says.
